- Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2018I will admit, I am a recipe book collector, but that said, for the Keto diet, this book is AMAZING! Great diet guidance and a fantastic selection of recipe options, including plans, if that is your thing - or to get you started. This is a must have for those on Keto! Taste recipes and everyday ingredients. PLUS it provides micro and macro data! I saw some complaints that it is expensive....Keto is not an inexpensive diet - but on the other hand, you are eating less, more healthy food - so in the long run, it is really not any more expensive then any other diet plan that does not include convenience foods. I LOVE THIS BOOK and highly recommend
- Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2019Every recipe I have tried is simple and delicious - I’m never hungry. The food makes intermittent fasting easier because I feel fuller longer. This book took all the guesswork out of starting Keto. It’s simple to hit my macros because I can plan my meals ahead of time and plug them into MyFitnessPal to see what I need. I didn’t follow the plan in the book, just jumped around. But I did like that it had a plan.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2020Great recipes - a lot of them simpler - which i appreciated since i don't have a lot of extra time. Mostly common ingredients - not very many specialty ingredients for such a strict diet. Explained a lot about the why and how of the diet - and with 3 variations (if you are dairy intolerant or vegetarian) and varying levels with in each variation. The only thing i wish was different - I wish there were more pictures!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2019After doing Keto on my own for 3 weeks, I decided to pick up a cook book. I went to the book store and sat and compared about 10 different books, and I chose this one because it has weekly meal plans, over 200 recipes which include beverages, sides, sweets, sauces and dressings in addition to entrees. It also included a decent list of foods to avoid, as well as a chart of substitutions for common carby foods. It's also organized and looks nice (good design).
Here are the cons to this book, though:
1) The author is a big fan of just drinking bullet proof coffee, or as she calls it, "fatty lattes" for breakfast every day, so that's what she has on her meal plans for every single day. That's great for her, but what if somebody actually wants to eat breakfast? or at least change it up a bit? There are zero breakfast recipes in this book. Only a variety of like 4 different coffee or tea drinks.
2) The meal plans really leave something to be desired. It's as if she just chose random recipes to put for the meals each day without any regard for real life application... because if you actually try to follow the meal plan to a T (which I know you don't have to), you'll end up eating soup for dinner two days in a row, or a shrimp dish for lunch and a shrimp dish for dinner in the same day, or trying to figure out how to have a crock pot meal for lunch which needs to cook for 8 hours ahead of time. I know that you can just make it the night before or something and then reheat at lunch time, but it just seems like a really weird choice to put that as a lunch item. So yeah, be prepared to have to reorganize the meal plans if you get this book. They are not good as is.
3) I wish that the author would have included the page numbers of the recipes on the meal plan. It's a huge pain to have to flip to the back of the book, search through the index to find the recipe, then flip to the page. This especially makes trying to make a shopping list for the week a huge time consuming hassle. I'm going to have to get some page markers or something to at least mark the different sections so that I can navigate it better.
4) This isn't a huge deal, but I did find a typo which had me so baffled for a few seconds. One of the recipes in the meal plan was a shrimp zoodle salad. I searched and searched in the index for a shrimp zoodle salad, but all I could find was a pork zoodle salad. So I turned to that page, and sure enough, it was the shrimp zoodle salad. So it was misprinted in the index.
5) I find the baking instructions to be way off on almost everything that I've made so far. And it's not consistently off. Some things I have to bake for way longer, others way shorter, and some I have had to adjust the temperature. So keep a close eye on your stuff the first time you try a recipe from this book, you may have to adjust time or temp.
The big pro to this book though is that so far I have really enjoyed all of the recipes. They are simple and easy to make and they taste great. As someone who is fairly new to keto, I really needed something like this to give me lots of new ideas for cooking. I've learned a lot from it! And so far I haven't come across any recipes that aren't keto. I've seen some other keto books that included ingredients like potatoes, rice, and even sugar in some of their recipes!
So, in the end, even with all of the cons, I do recommend it if you're looking for a recipe book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2019Great recipes very detailed but the biggest complaint I have is there are no serving sizes. It will say serves 4 or serves 6 it doesn’t say what the serving sizes are. This is crucial when on the Keto Diet, the book tells you how many calories and carbs and other nutritional value in the recipe but how do you know what that represents is it per serving or per recipe ? Plus there are no pictures of the recipes, pictures are good these 2 items are the difference between me buying this again and not buying it again.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2020The recipes in this book are so yum. I haven’t gotten thru the every recipe but I have tried several and they needed very little alterations. I find the toughest part of keto is finding recipes that suit your cravings and making dishes that don’t need any changes. I’ve gone thru several cookie recipes before finally finding one I love. The recipes in this book are delicious and easier to make then you’d think.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2018When most of us enter the Keto or Low-Carb lifestyle, it can be OVERWHELMING! The Big Book of Keto Diet Cooking comes to the rescue with amazing recipes! Some are inexpensive and easy with few ingredients and others are a bit more intensive. But ALL are pretty good! I especially liked that there are recipes to snack as well as recipes for full meals. Not everyone who goes on the Keto Diet wants to spend their life in the kitchen. This cookbook has something for everyone! I was delightfully surprised!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2019This is so easy to read and to comprehend. Friends who have come to the house and looked through it have also made the purchase of it--because it is so simple to read and understand. The recipes are amazing--and simple, too!
