- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2024There's no one who can better represent Wonder Woman than Lynda Carter, and Season 2 of TV's 1977 Wonder Woman was filled with great episodes. The first season depicted Wonder Woman during World War 2 with Steve Trevor, as she was originally in the comics when she was created. Season 2 takes Wonder Woman into the mid-1970s, where she meets Steve Trevor's son, Steve Jr. who works for a government agency that protects the U.S. against threats. Wonder Woman's civilian identity of Diana Prince becomes an agent with Steve, so they're "reunited" 33 years later. The season is well done. My favorite episode was the "toymaker."
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2014Its always fun to look back at the campy stuff of the 70's. Not easy to do , look at the failures to relaunch this show and "Bionic Woman!' Its fun to relive the past thru the fashions and how technology has changed. And the one episode I bought this for starred the 70's version of this years Beiber. Leif Garrett played a teenage singing icon kidnapped and replaced by his non singing twin. You get to hear him sing his hit song "I was made for dancing" a lot and are reminded of all the troubles he suffered from by being popular at such a young age from drugs. And his sister who starred on the last 3 seasons of "My Three Sons" as Steve"s adopted daughter is in the episode as an adoring fan. She's hard to recognize since she's around 18 when this was filmed and looks different ( not a homely little kid anymore). His sister was Dawn Lynn. And no one filled out a heroes costume as well as Lynda Carter! And for a treat catch "Starsky and Hutch", season 2 premiere episode from Las Vegas a 2 parter that starred Lynda as a guest, and yes, braless and in a bathing suit, before her career took off!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2023Like the current contender, Linda Charter was/is a stunning example of gods best work.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2019Love the fact that it's a show I used to watch the problem is it showing that some episodes are not purchased and that's how my fire stick did not have a problem before but am having a problem now what's happening on all three seasons
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2016have entire collection on dvd and this episode was a fav and wanted to stream it. The series was high tech for its day. Most episodes written very well. They should do a new ww series. Trick is the actress and good writing and a network willing to air. That is why linda carter the best. and was born to play part . This is why the series stands the test of time and nobody 40 yrs later has been able to match it for tv. Same with them trying to reboot bionic series in 2002. It bombed. The 70s was a special time for superheroes, bu tv audience not ready to keep going.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2014LOVE watching "Wonder Woman!" Brings me back to my childhood in a flash and so enjoy the nostalgia! Yeah, it may be a bit campy, but LOVE Lynda Carter and she will ALWAYS be Wonder Woman ... is there any wonder that they have not brought WW back to the big screen? NOBODY will ever fill Lynda Carter's boots!!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2016I've already reviewed Wonder Woman seasons 1 and 3 so might as well put in my two cents here... I LOVE Wonder Woman! All seasons. It's very entertaining on a level that tv shows just aren't anymore. I am biased towards attractive women, however.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2015Having watched this season, as the others, when I was a child, I was as surprised as anyone when it was CBS and not ABC that would continue the series. Young and somewhat impressionable, I was excited to see the TV Guide advertisements for the second season, complete with Lynda Carter garbed in a modern, 'French cut' version of the iconic costume, and the promise of exciting new adventures. However then as now, I am sorely disappointed in the second season beginning with the TV-movie length premier -- Carter, as always, looks great, and remains utterly believable as the Amazon princess, regardless of the extreme silliness occurring around her. But expecting an audience, no matter how young, to believe that Steve Trevor's son just happens to find himself over Paradise Island, and resembles his father, well, to an absolute 'T' is just too much for anyone's ability to suspend disbelief. Surely there were many ways Warner Bros and the producers could have introduced the original Steve Trevor into the 1970s -- a time warp perhaps, or a failed mission to find Wonder Woman and Diana Prince after both (obviously) disappeared from his life in 1945. Indeed, this season, and Season 3 for that matter, are for die-hard fans only... and while I will always adore Carter for her extraordinary portrayal of the iconic character throughout the show's entire run, I always felt, and still do, that TV budget or not, the storylines, scripts, characters, 'villains' and effects could have been much better and more believable with a little more effort and thoughtfulness as regards the possibilities. All it takes is a solid understanding of what the audience expects based on what was available elsewhere at the time. For instance, the British-import and sci-fi children's show 'Space 1999' had a more solid take on space travel, alien lifeforms, and special effects than this meandering prime time cheese-fest, eventually basing a great deal of its design on "2001: A Space Odyssey" from 1968. Granted, production value is of great importance to the Brits, but when factoring in advertising revenue, etc. that benefited American network television, surely it is not too much to ask that WW's producers could give the show more than they did. Season 2 simply went for the easiest way out -- and Carter's then-husband and manager Ron Samuels surely had a hand in many critical decisions as the show progressed from the second half of Season 2 into 3 -- giving Carter more screen time than Waggoner, and making Carter as Diana Prince glamorously indistinguishable from Wonder Woman. Increasing use of stock footage stunts, locations and anti-climatic finales lowers the quality even further. And while narrative arcs were not common at the time of the show's filming, some continuity could have been adopted. The rather quick abandonment of the Amazons and Paradise Island was another big mistake considering the great storylines that could have been developed -- the most obvious being a clash between the Amazons and the outside world. Clearly CBS wasn't interested in making the effort, and in retrospect should have stuck with what made the show a hit at ABC -- the World War II narrative. Considering 1976 was this country's bicentennial and patriotism was running high, the show could have continued with the original theme. Both executive producer Douglas Cramer and Lyle Waggoner have commented that the show was much more believable when set during World War II, and I have to agree with them. Season 1 is the jewel of this series and its 13 episodes are a joy to watch even today.

5.0 out of 5 stars Que du bonheur!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Disappointed
The show was one of my strongest and fondest television memories as a very young boy. But I hadn't seen it in thirty years. Nor had I any great urge to. Not least because quite a few TV and film memories viewed years later would have been better off left in the past....
But with the recent talk of a new series curiosity got the better of me. And I have to say in this case I was not disappointed. First there is the extreme nostalgia value. Long buried now recalled memories of talking "super!" computers and the easy going charm of Lyle Waggoner as Steve Trevor for example.
OK some of it is daft - but frankly I suspect I was vaguely aware that some of it was daft when I was seven. It is also highly entertaining.
Central to the show (spoiler alert!) is Lynda Carter.
There is the remarkable, er, physical presence - which I can appreciate now! But she also brings charm, humour, sincerity and an incredible warmth to her dual role - which I guess is the reason why it had such an impact on my seven year old self. I know I'm biased but it's a pretty lethal combination for anyone else attempting to take on the part.
It's hard to quite know how the series would view without the nostalgia factor but I suspect today's youngsters would love it too.
Season 3 and then Season 1 - which I believe wasn't shown in the UK - up next!

Lynda Carter spielt auch weiterhin mit ihrer bezaubernden Art und ihren ausergewöhnlichen Talent, die Rolle der Diana Prince /Wonder Woman
