My first review of this I was skeptical if this worked. It says in the ad that it only works if it has a clear view of the sky. But I put mine inside of my trailer so it’s hidden. At first it wasn’t tracking when it was parked so I thought it didn’t work. But we just took it on a 2.5 hour drive through the mountains and once it started moving, it was tracking the whole trip! So now I am pleasantly surprised that this tracking device works and I look forward to someone stealing my trailer again and catching them! I definitely did not want to put this on the roof for someone to see, it’s buried deep in the back of some cabinets so a thief is not going to find it before I find them!

I have a trailer rental company. I first ordered the Oyster tracking device 2years ago. I now use these exclusively for my rental fleet.I have the subscription that provides 5 minute updates when the trailer is moving. For me the batteries last about 9 -10 months (about 17,000 miles). I am sent an alert when the battery drops below 30%. They also offer a 1 hour update subscription that will increase the battery life.This would be perfect for individuals that have an RV parked in storage for several months.*** UNPARALLELED SERVICE ***The customer support is unmatched in my experience. They are very knowledgeable about their devices and the tracking software. If your trailer is (“knocks wood”) stolen, 30 second updates are just a phone call away. By far the worst tracking system I have put on a vehicle. Installation is simple, obviously as it’s battery powered. This gps loses signal constantly, and for hours at a time. It thinks my asset is somewhere it was previously hours ago. Stopped. Driving. It doesn’t matter. I’ve moved the unit to various locations and with no success. There is no way I could reasonably expect to find my assets with this gps systems unreliable service. I’ll be sending in my return.
