The word veda literally means knowledge. The root word is vid, meaning to know. The Vedas are thus texts that provide knowledge. You may be aware that they are held to be most sacred. There are four Vedas, known as the Rig Veda, the Yajur Veda, the Sama Veda and the Atharva Veda. Many years ago, the Vedas were referred to as trayi, meaning three. There must have been some point of time when there were only three Vedas. These are acknowledged to have been the Rig Veda, the Yajur Veda and the Sama Veda. The Atharva Veda is believed to have been a later addition to the sacred canon. Presenting herewith, the first part.

    I love the cover artwork! Within, this small gem is simple, clear, and consise. This little book is like a potent seed, and in fact, contains THE most ancient wisdom of all of India being the first of the other Vedas. A wonderful addition, or rather, pre-requisite to all other literature whatsoever.

    This book is awesome but needs to be edited further for the reader to better understand the Rig Vedà. Some words maybe misinterpreted. Misconstructions of some sentences make it hard to understand some statements.Please update and it will be one of the best translations

    The book gives overall look of Yajurveda and covers important parts. Vedic hymns are translated in English and simple to understand . Whenever needed Bibek has given description as well. Good for start before jumping into entire reading .

    I struggled to get this book 2 stars, not because of the content but the way it’s presented. This book has numerous spelling errors - they number in the high several dozens. The formatting is a bit wonky as well often times you can’t tell when the author is speaking or when it’s direct translated text from the Rig Veda. I also received a completely different cover than the one depicted, although I do like the cover I received more.
