About the author

Born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia, Kiki Swinson discovered her flair for writing twelve years ago after completing her first novel entitled "Mad Shambles," while serving a five year sentence at a federal prison for "being the wifey" of a known drug dealer. This charge is known as "knowing of and/or about a criminal-enterprise."
After being released in December 1996, she did a little research and learned about the success of authors such as Bebe Moore Campbell, Terry McMillan and Sheneska Jackson. She said, "Dang these women got it going on. And if they did it, so can I!"
Ms. Swinson, later went on to self-publish "Mad Shambles." Her passion for writing didn't stop there. Writing feverishly into the wee hours of the night, she completed her second novel, Wifey, which was picked up and published by Melodrama Publishing. After the success of Wifey, there was an overwhelming demand for her to write a sequel. Her fans wanted more so Ms. Swinson decided to answer all unanswered questions. The result is a creative, gritty work of fiction entitled, "I'm Still Wifey."

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good but not great.
Verified PurchaseI liked this book, it was definitely a page turner, I liked the reference of characters from her other books as well.
The Good:
It was well written, had a great concept and was interesting the whole way through, I didn't get bored once. The ending was totally unexpected and was for sure a WOW moment.
The Bad:
I was thrown off by the summary on the back of the book, which made it seem like Maxine was the main character and the one in a sticky situation when it was really Seth. I didn't like how Maxine changed so drastically, I mean she went from a strong, independent woman to a crazed obessive psycho. I liked Sam's character but I didn't like the ending, I mean was she really warranted in that form of payback? She knew what kind of guy Seth was so it wasn't like she was surprised by his recent anitcs. Maybe she was consumed with greed is all I can think of. I mean it was obvious that he wanted to be with her and was willing to leave and be with just her.
I had many questions as well such as: What was the point of Sam getting the phone call from the C.O. if they didn't follow through on that story line? Why didn't Maxine's boss put two and two together with the picture of Seth and why keep bringing it up throughout the book if there is no resolution?
I am thinking there will be a sequel and maybe that's why they left the C.O. part unanswered, I mean Sam really couldn't have gotten away with it, could she have?
Overall it was a good read and I would read another of her books and recommend this book to others.
