Confession – I have a MAJOR sweet tooth. I’m always trying to find something that is uniquely delicious and fun for everyone to enjoy. I’ve got the easiest edible monster cookie dough recipe that is sure to be a crowd-pleaser and sharable. Because really, don’t we all eat the cookie dough out of the bowl when we actually bake cookies?
I know what you’re thinking, Jen – how the heck can you eat cookie dough? Well, there aren’t any eggs in this dough and you’ll bake the flour before you eat it. I think the secret ingredient is peanut butter.
I could guess that you have most of these ingredients on hand. You’ll make this just like you’d start a batch of cookies. A little sugar, little butter, and vanilla.
Add that toasted flour and the oats in and mix mix mix!
Then at the end add those M&Ms or any other mix-ins you would like and enjoy! This is perfect for movie night, or an afternoon sweet treat.
Edible Monster Cookie Dough
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp white granulated sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
- Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
- ⅓ cup plus 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup oats
- 1-2 tsp milk
- 2 tbsp mini M&Ms candies
- 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp peanut butter chips (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the flour by toasting it in your oven to eliminate bacteria. Spread the flour evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 350 for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, use a fork to combine the softened butter, sugars, and vanilla until smooth.
- Add the cinnamon (if desired) and peanut butter and stir until well mixed.
- Stir in the flour and oats, alternating a tablespoon at a time until combined.
- If needed, stir in milk a teaspoon at a time until the dough reaches your desired consistency.
- Gently fold in the M&Ms candies, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips (optional).
- Serve and enjoy!
Now, this recipe only makes two servings, so we’re talking moderation. I may have intentionally done that. Get crazy and change out the mix-ins. I could see adding chopped nuts or dried fruit for a fun alternative. What would you put in your cookie dough?
