Repoussé Technique
Repoussé is a metalwork technique often used by ancient civilizations to create a decorative relief or pattern in gold, silver, copper and other malleable metal items, by hammering them from the reverse. Often used to create delicate gold and silver-ware, this technique can be seen in ancient jewellery, shields and plaques.
