While many consider New York, London, and Paris to be the centers of the art world, Miami has been making a name for itself as a destination for contemporary art. Institute of Contemporary Art, MiamiTemporarily housed in the iconic Moore Building in the Design District, ICA Miami is set to open the doors to its permanent space in the same neighborhood by the end of 2017. icamiami.org
Rubell Family CollectionThough founded in New York in 1964, the Rubell Family Collection relocated to Miami in 1993. It's now one of the largest privately owned contemporary art collections. rfc.museum
Pérez Art Museum MiamiThe waterfront home of PAMM, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, debuted in 2013 just in time for Art Basel. “We have a very young collection, and the architecture is a response to a young institution’s needs,” chief curator Tobias Ostrander told AD when it opened. pamm.org
