Sherra Dunklin and Eddie Armstrong III were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 27, in Fourth Presbyterian Church, Chicago. The Rev. Joyce Shin officiated.

Parents of the bride are Susan and Dr. Alonzo Williams, 4 Coray Court, and Sula and Larry Dunklin of Memphis. She is the granddaughter of Donnie and Walter Holley of Dumas and the late Ruby and Jack Dunklin of Portageville, Mo.

The groom is the son of Jacquelyn Armstrong of North Little Rock and Anne and Eddie Armstrong of Houston. His grandparents are the late Dorothy Jean Nelson, the late James Brown Hunter and the late Ruby Lee and Eddie Lee Armstrong, all of Little Rock.

The altar held a pair of arrangements filled with orchids in shades of magenta, fuchsia and purple.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory Vera Wang satin gown with a strapless fitted bodice draped with a tulle overlay. The skirt had an asymmetrical peplum made of organza petals and extended to a sweep train. She carried a bouquet of purple Rothschild orchids, fuchsia orchids, blue hydrangeas and garden roses.

Jessica Williams of Atlanta served as her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alkia Russ of Los Angeles, Julienne Gutierrez of New York, Dominik Morton of Little Rock, Christina Wilson of Chicago and Nicole Nooner of Houston, sister of the bride. They wore one-shoulder gowns of black chiffon and carried bouquets of purple and fuchsia orchids.

Flower girl and ring bearer were Zhia Martin and Kasi Martin of Kalamazoo, Mich.

Best man was Steven Carter of Dallas. Groomsmen were Daven McCoy of Marianna, Rodney Nathan and Matt Pate, both of North Little Rock, and Alonzo Williams Jr. and Damien Vault, both of Little Rock.

Guests were seated by Braylen Smith of Little Rock and Mandrell Howell and Patrick Vaden, both of North Little Rock. Greeters were Ce-Arra Jenkins and Dr. Krameelah Banks, both of Little Rock, and Jade Gustin of Judsonia.

A reception at the Waldorf Astoria of Chicago followed the ceremony. Table centerpieces were tall tapered arrangements with deep purple orchids, white garden roses, purple and fuchsia orchids and black feathers. Music for a cocktail hour was by violinist Lee England Jr. Reception music was by the 12-piece band ZZAJE and by D.J. and hip-hop artist MCLYTE.

The bride attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and completed a two-year program focusing on filmmaking and video editing at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. She is founder of RedSTAR Media, where she is marketing and productions director.

The groom has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Arkansas, where he served as student body president. He is a state representative for District 37 (D-North Little Rock).

The couple will make their home in North Little Rock and plan a delayed wedding trip to Western Europe.
