The Academy Software Foundation has announced the schedule for its upcoming Open Source Days event, taking place both virtually and in-person in Denver, Colorado, on Sunday, July 28. This year’s keynote will be delivered by Darin Grant, CTO of Animal Logic, with additional speakers including executives from Adobe, Amazon Web Services, Blender, Framestore, Maxon, Weta FX, and more.
Grant’s keynote session, titled “The Value of Serial Volunteerism,” will reflect on the Academy Software Foundation’s role within the broader industry and present a case for how being an active community member provides significant value and opportunity to individuals and the companies that support them. He will draw on his own experiences at both Animal Logic and beyond – as a dedicated member of the Foundation (serving as both Treasurer and General Member representative on the Board), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Visual Effects Society, and SIGGRAPH.
