The latest village in the Center Parcs UK family was built by us at Woburn in Bedfordshire.
We constructed the main leisure and hotel buildings and associated ancillary centres and worked closely with two other main contractors who were building the lodges and developing the roads and infrastructure for the site.
The development was split between two principle areas and several secondary locations across the 365-acre forest site.
The Village Square area contains:
The Sub-Tropical Swimming Paradise
This stunning building features a wave pool, toddler pool, lazy river ride, wild water rapids and family play areas. The building is close by the retail units and restaurants on the village street.
The Leisure Bowl
This fun venue features a 10-lane bowling alley, bar, discotheque, gaming areas, restaurants and guest and staff services.
Both buildings are positioned on the village street which also features an extensive water recycling feature, landscaping, cycle parking areas and a children’s play park.
The Plaza area, located a few hundred meters away from the Village Square, includes a 75-bedroom hotel, spa, conference centre, sports hall, squash courts, climbing wall, six-lane bowling alley, supermarket and extensive catering facilities.
Around the main lake we also built a pancake house, which is suspended on stilts to elevate it above the lake and a watersports centre.
Across the site we also built an arrivals lodge, cycle centre, outdoor activities centre, housekeeping and technical services building, IT centres and grounds maintenance stores.
The project value was £96.9m and was completed in only 72 weeks.
