Republic or Ireland international Katie McCabe has been basking in the Australian sunshine with her partner Caitlin Foord, her fellow Arsenal teammate, over the Christmas season.

Sharing a photo of the two together in their swimwear as they stood in the clear blue ocean on social media, the Ireland captain posted the caption "Merry Christmas x", reaching her 409,000 Instagram followers.

McCabe received numerous comments, including festive wishes from Robbie Keane and Claudine. Her Ireland teammate, Grace Moloney, jokingly asked if they were going for a swim, and in response, McCabe quipped "Forgot my donut."

Foord also posted several snaps of their time in Australia, where the couple enjoyed the beautiful weather alongside Foord's family.

Arsenal teammates and partners since 2020, McCabe and Foord first publicly revealed their relationship earlier this year.

In July, they famously faced off against one another during the 2023 FIFA World Cup as Australia took on Ireland, beating them 1-0, reports the Irish Mirror.

However, the Ireland captain couldn't help but lead the Girls in Green in a successive tour, as they lost to Wales earlier this month in a qualifying play-off at the Aviva Stadium.

Following the match, head coach Eileen Gleeson stepped down, and McCabe subsequently paid tribute in a post-match message to Gleeson.

"Thank you so much for everything Eileen, you have given us so many special memories and brought me personally so much happiness again playing for Ireland. I want to wish you the best for whatever comes next for you."
