Learn about BHG's Editorial Process Published on September 6, 2024 Photo: Parachute With fall just around the corner, home decor and fashion trends are taking a turn toward the cozy and comfortable. It’s all about warmth, joy, and luxurious comfort this season—and now there’s a new way to bring some extra coziness into your home. Bedding and bath essentials company Parachute is bringing its trademark organic color palette to a brand new set of slippers—but these slippers aren’t your run-of-the-mill at-home footwear. No, these specific slippers—the Zermatt Premium Slippers—were made in partnership with the iconic Birkenstock footwear brand. “Parachute’s mission is to make your world more comfortable,” Ariel Kaye, Parachute’s founder, tells Better Homes & Gardens. “Since the very beginning, our premium quality products have been designed to be the most cozy and comfortable because we believe that comfort at home impacts every aspect of your life. The Birkenstock and Parachute brands focus on lasting products that are both aesthetically beautiful and long lasting.” The Zermatt Premium Slippers, an existing line from Birkenstock, are lined with shearling for a supremely luxurious insole. You’ll also find a flexible EVA outer sole on the slipper, so you can enjoy wearing the slipper inside or out with plenty of support (we’d expect nothing less from Birkenstock). But what makes this latest slipper release special is the color. For the partnership, Parachute contributed a new-to-Birkenstock shade: the pleasant green Agave. “Agave is a fashion-forward neutral,” Kaye says. “Together with the Birkenstock team we loved the idea of bringing a pop of color that is calming and grounding.” If you can’t get enough of the trendy new color (which is quickly becoming a key part of all serene color palettes this fall), Parachute also offers an Agave bedding collection, so you can match your slippers to the rest of your room. Parachute Zermatt Premium Slippers in Agave Buy on Parachute Home Kaye herself is a long-time fan of the Birkenstock brand (“I wear Birkenstocks nearly every day,” she says), which is well-known—and beloved—for its focus on quality and total comfort in every single shoe. Parachute and Birkenstock have a shared goal of providing customers with the most comfortable products possible; while you might not expect footwear from your favorite bedding brand, when you consider how both these brands value craftmanship, comfort, and quality, it’s clear that this is a match made in pillowy heaven. The Winners of Our Best Sheets Tests “In 2020 we had our first conversation with the Birkenstock team, and it became clear that we shared the same values and commitment to comfort and quality,” Kaye says. “At Parachute we love to partner with brands that are aligned aesthetically while also creating a brand moment for the customer that is both functional and inspired. Birkenstock is the most comfortable shoe, and we make the most comfortable products for the home. It is a perfect match.“ The Zermatt Premium Slippers retail for $180. The new colorway made in partnership with Parachute will be available for purchase from both Parachute and Birkenstock starting September 6—but the slippers are limited-edition, so they won’t be sticking around for long.
