Kidz Bop Turns 15 and Celebrates with Greatest Hits Release
Disclosure: I received a CD to assess. All opinions stated are my own.
Kids love listening to songs on the radio, however sometimes parents cringe when songs contain inappropriate lyrics for children. That’s where Kidz Bop comes in by providing kid-friendly versions of today’s most popular pop songs. Sung by kids for kids, Kidz Bop turns 15 this year and is celebrating with the release of its Greatest Hits CD on April 1, 2016 on iTunes and KidzBop Shop.
My daughter is just getting into Kidz Bop, and the Greatest Hits CD we just previewed is her first CD by this group. We’ve been listening to the Kidz Bop Greatest Hits CD in the car, and the songs are as super catchy and singable as their original versions on the radio. One thing I appreciate is that all the lyrics on the Kidz Bop Greatest Hits CD are G-rated. For example, compare these lyrics in Bruno Mar’s Uptown Funk:
Original lyric: “I’m too hot (hot damn)”
Kidz Bop lyric: “I’m too hot (hot yeah)”
Original lyric: “Fill my cup, put some liquor in it”
Kidz Bop lyric: “Fill my cup, put some water in it”
Here’s a listing of the songs on the new Kidz Bop Greatest Hits CD:
- Happy
- Uptown Funk
- Party Rock Anthem
- Shake It Off
- Roar
- Call Me Maybe
- Thrift Shop
- Best Day of My Life
- Gangnam Style
- Moves Like Jagger
- All About That Bass
- The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)
- Bills
- Make Some Noise!
Interested in taking the kids to a Kidz Bop concert? The Kidz Bop Kids 2016 Life of the Party Tour offers 50+ dates nationwide. Fans can hear their favorite songs performed live featuring Kidz Bop singers Grant, Ashlynn, Matt, and Sela. I know my daughter would love to go. After watching Kidz Bop videos on YouTube, she has declared, “I want to be a pop star when I grow up!”

Sadly, I think my kids are already tainted by the radio versions of some of these songs!
