Toronto has quickly become a musical hub over the years, sprouting artists such as Drake, The Weeknd, PartyNextDoor, Tory Lanez, Belly and many more. The latest talent to emerge from The 6 is XO affiliates 88Glam, who are gearing up to unleash their self-titled debut project on Nov. 7 and are sharing the first single from the project titled “12” premiering exclusively on Billboard.
The grainy, B-movie style video finds 88Glam — comprised of Derek Wise and 88 Camino — hosting a poker game in a dimly lit warehouse. The pair’s liquor-soaked lyrics coast on the ominous, synth-heavy beat pieced together by AlexOnWeed. “God damn they couldn’t stand you/ Now you pulling up, different cities they demand you/ Codeine in my cup, lit as fuck, acting brand new,” Wise raps just as The Weeknd joins the warehouse party.

88 Camino strolls through a local pharmacy inebriated as he raps about running from narcotic officers. “Santa Clause don’t trust no elves/ Fuck you mean, I barely trust myself,” he says. “Come outside in my Jordan 12s/ If I see 12 ,I’m doing 12.”
For their self-titled project, 88Glam keeps it at home and recruits fellow Canadians Murda Beatz and Wondagurl for production and also enlists XO’s Nav as the sole feature. “88GLAM was an idea that people saw the potential for before we did,” the duo tells Billboard. “It’s rare that two different aesthetics can meet the way ours do and create something so organic.”
