Birdman has publicly apologized to Lil Wayne for their past beef over legal issues. The mea culpa came Saturday (Aug. 25) during the annual Lil Weezyana Fest.
“I knew this day was going to come, but I didn’t know when it was going to come,” Birdman told the New Orleans crowd. “I’m sorry.”
The apology was followed by Birdman and Weezy performing Big Tymers’ “Still Fly.” Watch below.
Wayne and Birdman’s strained relationship has played out in the public for years. In 2015, Wayne sued Cash Money for $51 million, claiming the record label violated his contract terms and withheld tons of money after delaying his album Tha Carter V several times.
Since then, Wayne has called out the Cash Money CEO during multiple onstage performances and Birdman repeatedly promised the release of Carter V. Earlier this year, things started to look up for Wayne and Birdman, as they were spotted together at a club back in March. Birdman posted a photo of him and Wayne at a club with the caption, “Me and my SON.”
