Any suggestions for an affordable university to get RN to BSN?
The difference between RN and BSN has nothing to do with clinicals. It’s essentially the bare minimum to be licensed and the extra fluff that comes with all bachelors degrees (and a “research” project 🤮) Some ADN programs have more clinical hours than a BSN program 🤷🏻♂️ depends on the school honestly.

This doesn’t answer your question, but usually, RN-BSN programs are for registered nurses who don’t have a bachelors, meaning that they need to get all their gen eds out the way and take care of any extra electives. It is strictly an academic degree in all the bridge programs near me, so I’d assume it’s the same for SNHU.

Aug 16, 2017 · I am currently at Ohio university completing their online RN-BSN program but am required to take a microbiology and chemistry course. At the community college I graduated from with my ADN I just had to take a 1 credit microbiology class and no chemistry and if Chamberlain can let me graduate without one, I would be ecstatic.

They’re strict about apa but you can quickly learn what each professor is looking for. 5 week classes, not necessarily in order. Can take 5 weeks off if needed or take several classes at once. I took one at a time and it was enough work load.

May 30, 2023 · Definitely get your ADN and then bridge to BSN. I am an emergency department RN (will graduate w my BSN in December) at a level 1 trauma center. I did have to move 2.5 hours away to get in at a level 1 trauma center as a new grad. But, that being said, I will have no debt as a BSN while others have 30-100k in debt.

I’m doing the BSN now and the concept of having to do clinicals with a BSN or higher nurse in an outpatient setting that’s also hands-on Patient care doesn’t really make sense to me because I’m not changing my scope of practice at all. All in all it’s not a terrible program.
