Jan 10, 2019 · ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied showing up in TOAD/sqlplus when trying to connect sys as sysdba. Its a 12.1 oracle database in windows server 2008. SYS user connecting fine from server as route(no password) I have been searching a lot on this but no correct replies.

I am preparing a database (Oracle 9.2 on HP UX) for a restore and can log in to it from the command line as "sys/<pwd> as sysdba", but cannot login from TOAD. However, I can login to this database from TOAD as a normal user, but when I try to login from TOAD as sys/<pwd> using the same connect string, I cant log in. 'Invalid password'
