A man was arrested after shoppers were "randomly attacked" on a city high street. The terrifying incident happened in Erdington earlier today, Wednesday, November 16.
West Midlands Police said officers from nearby Stockland Green were called to the violent incident. A man was detained by officers.
Witnesses at the scene were said to have helped. Officers praised brave members of the public for their support.

The Erdington Policing Constituency wrote on Twitter: "Arrest. Stockland Green NHT responded to a violent male randomly attacking people on Erdington High St. After a futile attempt to run off he was quickly located and arrested.
"Great co-operation from witnesses at the scene ensured officers were able to take swift action. Teamwork."
