Perrhaps one day it willI attain the iconic status of Boston sports landmarks like the Citgo sign in Kenmore Square or the lighthouse at Gillette Stadium. 

Certainly the 68-foot Warrior hockey stick installed today outside the Bruins' new practice rink in Brighton will let passing Mass. Pike drivers know that they're entering a major hockey town.

After more than 30 years employing Wilmington's Ristuccia Arena as their practice facility, the Bruins will move into the nearly completed Warrior Ice Arena at Boston Landing for training camp in September. The team's lovely, state-of-the-art arena is located next door to the New Balance headquarters building.

The Bruins' development camp July 12-15 will be the team's final event at Ristuccia.

The installation of the giant hockey stick was originally scheduled for yesterday, but had to be postponed because of high winds.
