Silver Mountain Resort Gondola Village Master Plan

Silver Mountain Resort Architectural Illustration of Proposed Village Core, Idaho, United States - BHA Ski Resort and Village Master Planning

Overview

Kellogg, Idaho is home to what was once Idaho’s biggest mining operation. Over a century after its discovery, the community has traded their pickaxes for skis, snowboards and bathing suits.

Silver Mountain Resort retained BHA to create Master Plans for its Gondola Village, the Galena Ridge Golf Course and associated golf community residential, and the expansion of the ski area.

The Village Master Plan addresses the various needs associated with an all-season resort village with connections to the amenities the resort has to offer. The plan proposed a mix of condominiums, ground level retail, a gondola connection, and indoor waterpark. BHA worked closely with Silver Mountain to understand and integrate the connections between the various activities available at the mountain including: skiing, golf, mountain biking, an indoor water park and standing wave. Accommodation and commercial space was directly tied to the on-mountain skiing capacity and phased in an appropriate fashion.

In 2005, 110 condominiums (Phase II of the plan) sold out in a single day. Silver Mountain continues to use the BHA plans as the foundation to future expansion and resort residential development.
