A Sweet Post-Ceremony Exchange Between Prince William and Kate Middleton Is Going Viral

After the royal couple became husband and wife, some lucky members of the public got to witness the newlyweds make their procession in person. Ahead of Kate and William’s 12th wedding anniversary, the user posted an edited clip of the post-ceremony moment on March 28, 2023. In the video, William turns to his new wife and comments, “You look happy.” Kate immediately beams and responds, “Yes! Are you happy?” William returns the sentiment. “Yes, very! Yeah!” he exclaims in the clip. Since the footage was posted, it has already accumulated 133,000 views, 7,937 likes, 40 comments, and 25 shares.

Many users flocked to the comments section, mentioning how the sweet conversation is telling of their relationship. “The fact that she asked whether he was happy is genuine,” someone wrote. Others took it as an opportunity to reminisce about their special day. “Their wedding was like a fairy tale,” one person said. On February 22, 2023, another moment from Kate and William’s nuptials went viral. TikTok user @rm9498gul uploaded a video of the princess reciting her traditional wedding vows while her groom looked lovingly at her. “I, Catherine Elizabeth, take thee, William Arthur Philip Louis, to my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, 'til death us do part, according to God's holy law, and thereto I give thee my troth,” she is shown saying during the ceremony. At the time, the clip received 809,000 views, more than 53,000 likes, 485 comments, and 131 shares. 

While the bride and groom exchanged traditional vows from the Book of Common Prayer, Kate removed one key phrase from her promises. She decided to ditch the word “obey.” Kate followed in her mother-in-law’s footsteps since Princess Diana was the first royal bride to drop the word when she wed Prince Charles in 1981. 

William shared similar vows during the ceremony. "I, William Arthur Philip Louis, take thee, Catherine Elizabeth to my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God's holy law; and thereto I give thee my troth,” he stated during their nuptials.
