For the bride with a laid-back vibe and a little “woo-woo” in her heart, head straight to Sedona, the land of vortexes, healers, metaphysical magic, and activities that will enrich your body and soul. It’s only about two hours north of Phoenix, yet worlds away from city life. Choose a stay at L’Auberge de Sedona to connect with nature along the serene banks of Oak Creek. L'Auberge de Sedona's The Creekhouse is an especially intimate accommodation along the water, with five bedrooms and bathrooms, a wet bar, a sprawling outdoor deck, and a grand dining table. Unwind at L’Apothecary Spa, join group crystal meditations and yoga classes, or enjoy such unique offerings as a zodiac friendship compatibility reading or a vision board-making experience.

You can also head into town for a lunch with unbelievable views of the area’s famous red rocks and delicious pizza at Hideaway House, have sweet or savory crepes as big as a dinner plate at Sedona Crepes, and make reservations for a sunset dinner at Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill. Popular in-town activities include Pink Jeep Tours, hiking the iconic Devil’s Bridge Trail or West Fork Trail, shopping the many boutiques and art galleries in Tlaquepaque, or taking a helicopter or hot air balloon ride.

Punta Mita, Mexico

Our neighbors to the South know how to host a bachelorette party to remember, so don’t forget about the west coast of Mexico for an easy-access international option. Punta Mita, a private peninsula in the state of Nayarit about 10 miles north of Puerto Vallarta, offers beautiful ocean views and great beaches. Conrad Punta de Mita is the ideal property to call home, with multi-bedroom suites and “casa” style accommodations for large groups. Spend your days relaxing poolside in a cabana at one of three pools, including an adults-only pool with a swim-up bar, or indulge in an Apothecary Mud Wrap or a Zen Garden calming facial. For a truly unique experience, book a private Temazcal ritual with a Shaman for a healing, detoxifying, and spiritual self-discovery journey that will forever bond your entire crew. Schedule a private Agave tasting to get the night started, before heading over to one of three on-property restaurants.

Looking for day trip ideas? Shop in Punta Mita at Mita Mita, where the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spent time filming. Kellee Khalil, a seven-time bridesmaid and founder of DIY wedding planning platform Loverly, says to head to nearby Sayulita, a charming fishing village with colorful boutiques (visit the Slap Street, one of the most Instagrammable spots in town), beautiful beaches, and epic sunset views. “Don Patos is one of the most well-known bars in town with lively salsa dancing and Miscelanea Café is a great boho-chic breakfast café,” she says.

Award-winning restaurants (The French Laundry), legendary wineries, boutique shops, art galleries, luxurious spas—there’s no doubt that Napa was made for bachelorette parties. Climb aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train for a scenic 36-mile tour of the region, or explore the 47 miles of walking and biking trails of the Napa Valley Vine Trail. And if you time your party accordingly, you’ll be in town for the Napa Valley Film Festival, BottleRock, or the Napa Truffle Festival. There’s even a brand-new tiki bar, Wilfred’s Lounge, that’s sure to be a good time and a great spot for photos. Speaking of photos, visit Castello di Amorosa for truly Insta-worthy shots at the only authentic medieval Tuscan castle and winery built in America.

Consider booking a stay at The Setting Inn Napa Valley, a historic boutique property that reopened in June 2019 after renovations. This 1901 farmhouse is an intimate buyout to use as a home base for the bride-to-be and her bridesmaids, set on a one-acre property adorned with walnut trees, a fig tree, and lavender.

“With over 330 sunny days each year, bachelorette parties in Scottsdale can enjoy the pool season almost year-round, and any time of the year is great to go,” says Casey Hohman, owner and founder of Scottsdale Bachelorette. “Scottsdale has basically become the new Vegas meets Los Angeles.” He recommends checking out the world-class nightlife of the Old Town Scottsdale Entertainment District (with more than 100 restaurants, bars, and nightclubs), DJ’d pool parties at day clubs like Maya Dayclub and W Scottsdale (Friday-Sunday is a nonstop party with bottle service), and refueling at the hottest restaurants, including Toca Madera (think: live fire performances, dancers, and musicians), Maple & Ash, and STK Steakhouse

For activities, Bride Vibe Yoga organizes bridal party yoga classes at your Airbnb or hotel, book an Arizona Party Bike for a pedal pub crawl experience, take a cooking class at Marcellino Ristorante, or hire the Cabana Boys for your private soiree. There’s a long list of amazing Scottsdale hotels, including Sanctuary Camelback Mountain, A Gurney’s Resort & Spa—this resort is set upon 53 acres of desert scenery and features a 12,000-square-foot spa, three swimming pools, tennis and pickleball courts, and eight private mountainside villas (one of which was where Jay-Z and Beyonce honeymooned!). The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is another great choice with multiple pools, the only Sisley Paris Spa in the state, and cooking classes and tequila tastings. Or, to stay right in the heart of the Entertainment District, choose the brand-new Senna House and be sure to reserve a table at renowned executive chef Beau MacMillan’s CALA.

Anchorage, Alaska

It doesn’t get much more west coast than Alaska, and while this destination may initially seem like an odd choice for a bachelorette party, Anchorage is full of surprises—you could witness the Northern Lights dancing across the sky and watch whales breaching in the cold waters. Take a hike in the Chugach Mountains, which overlook the city and feature some of the state’s top trailheads (it’s just 20 minutes from downtown). When you’re feeling parched, there are more than a dozen breweries, a cidery, a distillery, and a variety of local craft coffee roasters. For dinner, try Crush for wine and local seafood dishes, Tequila 61 for margaritas and salsa, or hit the deck at 49th State Brewing Co. for a fun night under the midnight sun.

Party attendees could stay at the upscale Hotel Captain Cook, or the newest hotel in Anchorage, the lively Aloft Hotel. To get the full experience of a small Alaska mountain town, the bridal party can take a day trip to Girdwood on the Alaska Railroad, just 40 miles south of Anchorage. In Girdwood, you’ll find Alaska’s first-ever Nordic spa experience at Alyeska Resort, which features serene outdoor hot and cold plunge pools, a Finnish sauna and steam rooms, an exfoliation cabin featuring Alaskan sea salt, treatment rooms for massages, and upscale bites at the on-site bistro—and it’s all set within the Chugach mountains, surrounded by the country’s northernmost rainforest.

Portland, Oregon

As a culinary hub, Portland is one of those cities you can just eat your way through, which makes it one of the best west coast bachelorette destinations for foodies. From James Beard restaurants like Le Pigeon to celebrity chef hotspots like Top Chef’s Gregory Gourdet, and his brand-new Haitian cuisine restaurant Kann, there’s no shortage of fine dining here. But Portland’s breweries, dive bars, and food carts are equally delicious options featuring local and international flavors. Nearby Willamette Valley is an ideal day trip for wine tasting—especially Bryn Mawr Vineyards for its panoramic views of the Valley, Résonance for its large patio and three garden areas, and Nicolas-Jay with its tasting deck that offers 300-degree views.

Make your way to Darcelle XV for a Vegas-style cabaret revue, book a party bus through Shanghai Portland, or don your best classic couture at Driftwood Room, a 1950s vintage cocktail bar with Manhattan flights. Don’t miss the Icelandic KEX Hotel, featuring award-winning bartender and author Jefferey Morgenthaler’s new lobby bar Pacific Standard—and if you've got a large party, there’s a 16-bed private bunk room with a common bathroom that’ll give you sorority house feels all over again.

Cabo, Mexico

You’ll find one of the best west coast bachelorette destinations on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula: Cabo. Known for its beaches and nightlife, this resort city offers a little something for everyone. Khalil suggests renting a boat to explore Cabo’s clear blue waters, doing a tequila and Mezcal tasting at Santos Destilados, and going zip lining or off-roading with Cabo Adventures. Mango Deck on Medano Beach is the quintessential bachelorette experience and a nonstop party. Enjoy fresh and local dishes under twinkle lights at El Huerto Farm to Table Restaurant, seafood with views of humpback whales at Nobu Los Cabos, and Mediterranean cuisine at Bagatelle, which Khalil says is a must thanks to live music, sparklers, and fun drinks.

For the absolute most panoramic views in Cabo and front-row access to the city’s only swimmable beach, book your stay at Corazón Cabo Resort & Spa. Enjoy a chill pool day overlooking the Sea of Cortez at Rooftop360, which is the highest rooftop bar in Cabo at nine stories tall. At night, this spot comes alive with a DJ and dancing, craft cocktails, oysters and bubbles pairings, and wine and cheese experiences. Book a private cabana at the Corazón Beach Club or a signature treatment at Sparitual. Choose a room in the recently updated Corazon Tower—the Sunset Suite sleeps 12, with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a terrace with a private hot tub.

Tucson, Arizona

It might not be on your radar, but don’t sleep on Tucson as one of the best west coast bachelorette destinations. Any adventure-loving bride will be wowed by the beauty of Saguaro National Park and hikes in Mount Lemmon. What's more, traverse the Sky Island Scenic Byway, which is the biological equivalent of driving from the deserts of Mexico to the Canadian forest in a mere 26-mile stretch (the peak is 9,171 feet in elevation, and yes, there’s snow in the winter). The bride and her besties are sure to be mesmerized by stargazing at the Mt. Lemmon SkyCenter, which features two of the largest public telescopes in the Southwest.

When hunger strikes, you’ll find the best 23 miles of Mexican food north of the border like El Charro Café, the oldest Mexican restaurant in the U.S. with continuous operation by the same family at 100 years young. But Tucson also has two James Beard Award winners and is the first place in the U.S. to be recognized as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy. Round out your visit with a stay at digital-free resort Miraval Arizona, situated on 400 acres of land near the Santa Catalina Mountains. It's the perfect place to relax and recharge before the big day, with luxurious spa treatments at the Life in Balance Spa, daily wellness activities from desert tightrope to equine therapy, and hands-on culinary workshops.

Las Vegas, Nevada

It goes without saying that Las Vegas is one of the best west coast bachelorette destinations, since what happens here, stays here. Sure, this town is all about the nightlife, so how will you spend your days? “Take a spin on a dance pole at Pole Fitness Studio for the cherry on top to your Vegas weekend,” says Grace Lee, founder of Birdy Grey. Booking a room at Wynn Las Vegas means you can take a much-needed break from all the partying by lounging on a chaise at the property’s relaxing pool—reserve a daybed or cabana for upgraded amenities—or get some R&R at The Wynn Spa Salon. And taking in a Thunder from Down Under show is always a great way to set the tone for any bachelorette party weekend, where Lee says you can “live out the Magic Mike fantasy IRL.”

Grab a bite at Delilah, Wynn's 1950s-inspired supper club, to experience a luxury dinner and show unlike any other in Las Vegas. Menu items include an elevated twist on popular American dishes, helmed by Executive Chef Joshua Smith, like their famous King Crab Caesar and Short Rib “Surf & Turf”, in addition to perfectly crafted cocktails. After dinner, make your way to XS Nightlife Club, Vegas's top nightclub with 30 VIP outdoor cabanas, an illuminated outdoor pool, and a large circular dance floor. Depending on when you go, you may be able to catch your favorite DJ's residency including Marshmello, Swedish House Mafia, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Kygo, Diplo, RLGrime, and more.

Greater Palm Springs, California

Greater Palm Springs is a major hub for bachelorette parties, which is no surprise given the year-round sunny weather, spa and wellness offerings, and great nightlife scene. “Between the Instagrammable restaurants like The Pink Cabana and Eight4Nine and the desert tropical bars like Bootlegger Tiki, there is no shortage of unique dining and drinking experiences,” says Shannon Detrick, the community manager at BACH, the bachelorette party planning app. “During the day, experience a trip into the Colorado Sonoran Desert on a Covered Wagon Tour with Live Music and BBQ or enjoy the beautiful climate of Palm Springs while pedaling to local bars on the Sunny Cycle.” And Joshua Tree Park is only 40 miles away if you’re looking for a day trip with a stunning desert landscape.

The hardest decision you might have to make is where to stay, as Palm Springs offers so many great options. For the ultimate pool time experience, book the Citrus Suite at the just-opened Paloma Resort, and get your cameras ready for VIP poolside service in a colorful Insta-worthy setting. If spa days are more your cup of tea, the JW Marriott Desert Springs recently unveiled its 38,000 square-foot spa—don’t miss the Decadent Caviar Facial or CBD Wellness Massage, not to mention the Aromatic Hammam, Finnish Sauna, Turkish Steam Room, and heated saltwater lap pool. Want to stay in the heart of the city? Check out The Rowan Palm Springs, located in Downtown Palm Springs (though you might not want to ever leave the property due to its unbelievable rooftop pool terrace and five-star dining options). The newly opened Fleur Noire Hotel in the city’s Uptown Design District is another option, as it offers 21 uniquely designed casitas and suites with giant hand-painted flower murals, and has a guest-only speakeasy champagne rosé bar, La Boisson.

No matter the season, Park City’s natural beauty is a great choice for a bachelorette party. Spend your days doing a Mines and Wines tour at The Fox School of Wine, or paddleboard yoga inside a crater. Winter partygoers can enjoy snow tubing or taking a dog sledding tour—and, of course, the skiing here is top-notch. Brunch at The Eating Establishment for the bloody Mary bar, and choose dinner at Courchevel on Main Street for its French fare and impressive wine list. When it’s time to let loose, book a customized gin-making experience at Park City Social Aid & Pleasure Club, listen to live music while you dance at The Spur, and end your evening at No Name Saloon (everyone does).

Posh bridal parties love booking at the Waldorf Astoria Park City, which is situated at the base of Park City Mountain Resort—there are three- and four-bedroom bi-level suites that sleep up to 12, and you’ll find next-level views of the ski slopes and Wasatch Mountains. The 16,000-square-foot spa offers such unique services as Gemstone Inner Healing Body Therapy and Lymphatic Detox Wrap, perfect for a day of pampering. The property also features an expansive outdoor patio with fire pits and a pool that’s heated to 80 degrees year-round.

For a coastal bachelorette party that offers easily accessible tasting rooms and endless beach access, set your sights on Santa Barbara, aka The American Riviera. Follow the Urban Wine Trail, which is made up of nearly 30 wineries—many are within walking distance of each other and downtown beaches. For a day of relaxation, visit Salt Cave Santa Barbara for a halotherapy session or book massages at Float Luxury Spa. Rent bikes from BCycle and take a ride along the palm-lined oceanside Cabrillo Bike Path, book a sunset sailing cruise out of Santa Barbara Harbor, or visit Lotusland (near the new home of Prince Harry and Megan Markle). When it’s time to turn things up a notch, Pearl Social is a stylish and swanky cocktail bar with live music and The Red Piano has pianists and singer-songwriter acts. Don’t miss the Market Tour & Gourmet Dinner at Bouchon and lunch at Santa Barbara Picnic Co.

The Rosewood Miramar Beach—situated on one of the most pristine beaches and located in Santa Barbara’s picturesque Montecito community—is a luxurious option and culinary destination with the area’s only Forbes Five-Star spa. And San Ysidro Ranch is an intimate option with only 38 bungalow-style cottages and award-winning restaurants (with a 12,000-bottle cellar!). Bachelorettes looking to stay in the heart of downtown can check out the Kimpton Canary and Riviera Beach House, or snag a beachfront spot at the recently reimagined Mar Monte Hotel.
