CFA School of Music hosts a Standing Committee on Antiracism and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access, co-chaired by Professors Minju Kim and Allison Voth. Originally responding to a 2020 petition written by the students of the School of Music AntiRacist Initiative (SOMARI), this active committee, comprised of faculty, students, and staff continues active work on recommendations clustered in four areas:
- Performance Curriculum
- Classroom Learning
- Administration and Community
- Recruitment and Financial Support
The Committee is also sponsoring an exciting 2024-2025 Academic year of activities and special events, including the launch of its MOSAIC SERIES which will include concerts, lectures, seminars and workshops throughout the year:

If you would like to help the committee celebrate and further promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Antiracism awareness and presence in the School of Music and BU in general, please contact Professor Minju Kim at [email protected] and Professor Allison Voth at [email protected].
We seek students who have not yet completed their degree program. Students on this committee attend monthly DEIA Committee meetings, help plan DEIA-centered events, and share unique and diverse perspectives with fellow students and faculty.
