Come and learn about ‘the power and grace of water’ at artist Debbie Baxter’s Cambridge talk
‘The Power and Grace of Water: A Very Human Relationship’ is the title of an upcoming talk and exhibition by landscape artist and Cambridge Drawing Society member Debbie Baxter.
Debbie, who currently specialises in painting water, will give a fascinating and informative talk about her eight-week solo trip to Finland’s northerly wilderness where she talks and showcases her ‘plein air’ and studio work with a series of 15 paintings.
She will also discuss how her beautiful and wild relationship with water grew into something more profound.
This is a story of fear, courage and empowerment through a passionate creative lens that could inspire us all.
The 90-minute talk will take place at the St John the Evangelist Church on Hills Road, Cambridge, on Wednesday, 27 November, at 7.30pm.
Tickets available on the door are £5, and refreshments are included – or you can book your seat by emailing Debbie at [email protected] as spaces are limited.
The paintings will be on display free-of-charge at the church from 26-29 November, from 10am to 4pm every day.
A highly experienced artist, Debbie has had numerous exhibitions of her work and has also appeared on the BBC’s Countryfile.
In 2019, she published a book called Into the Woods, which includes different woodland scenes painted in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Norfolk.
