CONTINUING THE LEGACY

Since 1921, Camp Atwater has been more than just a summer camp - it’s a place where unforgettable memories are made, lifelong friendships are formed, and young minds are inspired to grow. Nestled along the scenic shores of Lake Lashaway in North Brookfield, MA, Camp Atwater offers an enriching experience for youth ages 8-15, blending adventure, personal growth, and community in a way that lasts a lifetime.

Owned and operated by the Urban League of Springfield, accredited by the American Camping Association, and honored as a National Historic Landmark, Camp Atwater is the oldest African American-owned and operated residential youth camp in the nation!

From swimming, archery, and sports to STEM activities, nature exploration, arts, leadership development, and cultural enrichment, campers embark on a journey of fun, discovery, and self-empowerment. Here, they develop confidence, character, and lifelong bonds in a supportive and inspiring environment.
