Situated in the South-west of La Isla Bonita, is the secluded 4 Star La Palma & Teneguía Princess Hotel. Nestled into the cliff side, amongst Banana plantations and with stunning sea views, this is a great island getaway. This is a much quieter island than its neighbours, so hiring a car is recommended – La Palma is small enough to get around easily and the roads are usually pretty quiet.
Tip – many guests use coach transfers and there can sometimes be a bit of a wait to check-in. Hire a car so you don’t have to wait for the coach, and you should be able to get to the hotel and check-in before the coach-loads arrive. You’ll also have wheels to head off and explore the rest of the island.
Fuencaliente has some great well-marked, local hiking paths while the island itself has over 1000Km of trails. One of the most popular walks is the Ruta de los Volcanes, which takes around 6 hours and snakes through spectacular scenery of pine forests and volcanic cones.
