Akiko's Care

Hi! My name is Akiko Strock and I am a professional and experienced and certified in first aid and CPR. I provide care for families in my home with a small number of kids. The childcare I provide is my own business and I provide tight book keeping of all payments and provide families with that information to claim their childcare tax credit. I provide families with a contract as a way to protect both myself and the family. I pride myself as being communicative and transparent with families. I have my bachelors degree in Philosophy, but have loved being a mother and have poured my life into it. I have a son and two daughters. My son is 7 years old and attends private school (in person learning) and my daughter is 5 and will be starting kindergarten in the fall, and my other daughter is 1. I am looking to provide care for one more infants or toddlers or preschoolers, or school age children (I'm willing to provide help with school work to those who are doing remote learning). Having the children around each other is a great opportunity for socializing and I've found that they learn a lot from each other. I am not just a babysitter, I use every opportunity for educating and developing milestones through a structured day of interactive play, reading, singing songs, and going on walks to the park or to the library for story time. I provide all meals and snacks as well as diaper wipes. I am very comfortable with newborns and have many "tricks" up my sleeves to help nurture babies. I am also comfortable with growing toddlers. Potty training, teaching shapes, colors, and letters, as well as outdoor time is part of our daily routine. Nap/rest time is always at the same time and the kids really benefit from having consistency in our day and the routine I establish helps to make the day smooth. Although there is a routine to each day, I do love taking the kids on little field trips to the playground, library, and sometimes even more adventurous places like the butterfly pavillion or the children's museum, etc. I have a car that seats 7. I am a strong Christian and my love for Jesus influences every area of my life including my professions. I love to teach kids about the love of Christ through prayer, reading, and singing songs. Included in my services I would provide all meals and snacks, as well as diaper wipes. I have over 10 years' experience and can provide references for recent families I have provided care for.
