Krunchy Kids Home Care

Krunchy Kids Home Care is a home daycare in Crystal Lake. Here at Krunchy Kids, I strive to offer quality child care that is also affordable, natural minded, biologically based and eco-friendly. The children I care for truly become a part of our family and I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and loved here. In my home, I also strive to have a mostly non-toxic environment. I use non-toxic, natural cleaners and supplies only and do my best to minimize our impact on our planet.

As an experienced childcare provider of 15 years and a loving mom to two little boys, I strive to stay on top of all of the most recent and biologically based recommendations for little ones. I am very natural minded, but will absolutely be supportive if you practice other parenting methods, with the exception of sleep training/cry it out methods. I am cloth diaper, baby/toddler wearing, breastmilk, baby led weaning, allergy, special need, supplement, and attachment parenting friendly. I offer you as the parent a choice when it comes to what your child eats during meal time while in my care. There is a small rate increase for the organic, non-gmo meal option.

I do not support screen time of any sort for little ones under the age of 2. For older children, I prefer to avoid screens as much as possible with the exception of a movie here or there on a rainy day when going outside to play is not an option. I believe in considering the whole child in terms of development and the positive impact of fostering creativity through activities such as child-directed play, art, music, and dance. I also use zones of regulation to the theme of the movie Inside Out. This system helps children identify their feelings in a fun, comfortable way and allows me the opportunity to help them navigate uncomfortable feelings as well as find healthy solutions to meet their emotional needs. We follow a basic, but not rigid, daily schedule which offers them a sense of consistency and security, yet remains flexible enough for me to respond to the individual needs of each child in my care.
