About Maria

I started working with kids when I was 15 or so at a local educare center. I continued to work at the educare center until I left my hometown for college and then I began nannying over the summer! I am going to use this account to find babysitting jobs occassionally from now on. One thing you should know about me is that I love animals, I am very capable in the kitchen, and I enjoy light housekeeping. Also, I have a perfect driving record and valid driver's license, but I do not have a vehicle. I really enjoy creating fun activities to learn about things like weather, days of the week, colors, shapes, etc. I learned a lot about age-appropriate curriculum and developing lesson plans/activities that engage children and help them learn through play in my experience at the educare center. I am currently learning more about showing children breathing excercises/using distraction techniques to control tantrums and redirect attention rather than bringing the focus to any harmful behaviors.
