KICK OFF NEW YEARS DAY WITH A 5K

Celebrate the start of 2025 at the Charlotte New Year’s Day 5K on January 1 in University City. This family-friendly 5K begins at 10 a.m. and follows along Mallard, Barton, and Toby Creek Greenways. The race finishes on the UNC Charlotte campus with a New Year’s Day celebration. Registration includes a custom race shirt, beer (for 21+ runners), lunch, and a kid zone.

GET YOUR JUMP ON

Bring the kids to Big Air on Sunday, January 5 for Big Air’s Family Day. For $55, receive four one-hour jump passes, a large pizza, and a pitcher of soda. Explore trampoline dodgeball courts, ninja-warrior courses, launch pads, freestyle courts, and more. 

WATCH SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS ON THE BIG SCREEN

Visit the Independent Picture House on Saturday, January 11 at 10:30 a.m. to catch some Saturday cartoons. The event is free and includes milk and cookies. Seating is first come first serve.

Join Levine Museum of the New South for a celebration honoring the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy artistic performances, story times, and MLK-inspired arts and crafts. Admission is free.
