Local Public Bus Lines

There are several bus lines linking Hong Kong city downtown with Hong Kong Port of the bridge, including 10 Airport Bus “A” Routes (A11, A21, A22, A29, A31, A33X, A35, A36, A41 and overnight “NA” route) and other 4 feeder routes. Those bus lines can take you to most of the places in Hong Kong, like Hong Kong International Airport, Sheung Wan, Central, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Mong Kok, Yau Ma Tei, Jordan, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hung Hom, Tuen Mun Town Centre, etc. Every time catching the buses, it charges about HKD 22-40 per person.

Zhuhai City to/from Zhuhai Port of the Bridge

Zhuhai has 5 public bus lines, 6 special bus lines and Airport Express line operating buses to/from Zhuhai Port of the Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macao Bridge. Most of the buses provide service from 8:00 to 18:00 or 19:30, while the special buses traveling directly from Zhuhai Railway Station to the Zhuhai Port run 24 hours a day.

Macau City to/from Macau Port of the Bridge

Macau Bus 101X and 102X offer 24-hour service between Taipa Island and Macau Port of Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macao Bridge. And all the taxis in Macau can take you to the Macau side of the bridge too. Free shuttle buses (10:00-23:00) are also available to take you to Macau Taipa Ferry Pier or Macau Ferry Pier. From there, you can continue their journeys by taking free shuttle bus service provided by the major hotels around the city.

To help tourists travel across the bridge in ease, convenient cross-boundary shuttle buses, coaches and taxi services have been put into use since the late 2018. During the journey, you need to process immigration clearance at the ports in each side.

Cross-boundary Shuttle Bus (HZM Bus)

  • Schedules: every 5 minutes during the peak hours, every 10-15 minutes during non-peak period and every 15-30 minutes during the overnight period
  • Price: CNY 58 per person during the day (06:00 to 23:59); CNY 63 at night (24:00 to 05:59 of the following day)
  • Luggage Allowance: Every passenger is allowed one free luggage of 20kg, with total dimensions not exceeding 158cm (76cm*51cm*32cm).
  • The cross-boundary shuttle buses are also warmly called “golden buses” by the locals because of its gold color. Those golden buses are the cheapest way to help you traveling from one side to another side of the bridge. The ticket can only be used once, but you can use it at any time of the departure day. Children aged under the age of 12 and less than 1.2m in height can enjoy a 50% discount of the ticket price. And the journey on the bridge takes about 45 minutes.

Cross-boundary Coach

There are many coach companies offering cross-boundary coach service via Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macao Bridge. Each of the companies has ticket counter inside the ports on the bridge. The most frequently used coaches are One Bus, Hong Kong–Macau Express and Trans-Island Limousine.

Cross-boundary Taxi

There are also cross-boundary taxis traveling between Guangdong (Zhuhai for example) and Hong Kong and between Macau and Hong Kong via HZMB. However, not all the taxis on the street are allowed to travel on the bridge. And if you need such a taxi service, you have to make an appointment in advance. The taxis are limited in number and its price is much expensive than any of other ways. Therefore, you are more suggested to catch the shuttle buses, coaches or hire private cars for your journey.

2. You are suggested to pay attention to the luggage allowance policies, because the policies vary from different transport means. For the shuttle buses, every passenger is allowed one free luggage of 20kg, with total dimensions not exceeding 158cm (76cm*51cm*32cm). For the coaches, travelers are usually allowed to carry only one piece of luggage too, and the dimension should not exceed 56cm x 36cm x 22cm.

3. The traveling journey on the bridge takes about 45 minutes. And along the way, all the cars, buses and coaches are not allowed to make a stop on the middle way. Therefore, you are not allowed to get off on the middle way too.
