PROP TEN COMMANDMENTS TABLETS FROM "THE TEN COMMANDMENTS"
Paramount, 1956
A set of prop Ten Commandments tablets from the Cecil B. de Mille directed Biblical epic. Constructed of fiberglass and other materials, these weighty tablets are painted a rust-color to resemble stone and have early Canaanite-style script engraved on the surface spelling out the commandments. Seen in the climatic last scene when Moses, as portrayed by Charlton Heston, comes down from Mount Sinai carrying the tablets, this particular set is one of six that were made for the film.
