14 Jul – Filmmaker Ghaz Abu Bakar's action film, "Polis Evo" will be screened at the Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF) 2016 held at New York City this month. The 39th edition of the festival will run from 21 July until the end of the month where screenings of Asian movies are scheduled to be held at Cinema Village East, Asia Society, Museum of the Moving Image and Flushing Town Hall. The films at AAIFF have been categorised in the following sections; Gala Presentations, Special Presentations, Narrative, Documentary, Shorts, Panels, Free Films in Flushing and Events. The Astro Shaw film will be shown at the Village East Cinema this 23 July under the Narrative section of the festival. Other films also screened under the same section are; "A Tale Of Three Cities", "Spa Night", "River", "In The Room", "Hollow", "The Beijing Opera (3D), "The Dog" and more. Starring Shaheizy Sam and Zizan Razak "Polis Evo" which was released on 17 September last year, had managed to gross RM17.47 million at the box office, thus making it the country's highest grossing film to date.
