Hit the hay like Harry

When Harry Potter first saw his sleeping quarters at Hogwarts, he must have been in heaven. (They were, after all, a big step up from sleeping in a broom closet.) Even though he shared a room with his fellow Gryffindor classmates, it was still a glorious site to behold.

Now you can pretend you're spending the night at Hogwarts in the Wizard Chambers at London's Georgian House Hotel. The deluxe rooms come complete with a canopy bed, desk and chair, nightstand and vintage travel trunk.

Enjoy deluxe wizard decor

In addition to the comfy four-poster bed, guests in the Wizards Chambers can enjoy stone and wood-like walls, antique tea service, hardwood floors and even a ladder that seems to go nowhere. There are so many little touches to the Wizard Chambers that they almost seem more like Room of Requirements than bedrooms.

A stay for two at the Wizard Chambers costs £209 (approximately $336, AU$380), with packages that include a movie locations Muggle Tour going for £249 (about $400, AU$454).

Mona Lisa watches you sleep

At the Georgian House Hotel in London, a copy of the Mona Lisa watches as you fall asleep. While the witches and wizards portrayed in paintings that decorated the walls at Hogwarts could move from portrait to portrait due to special enchantments, this doesn't mean the Mona Lisa will be moving around the hotel's art collection. At least we don't think so.

Stay in a spellbinding room

The Wizard Chambers also have beautifully ornate mirrors hanging on the walls, stained-glass windows, red velvet curtains and a large wooden wardrobe, but also a writing desk and candles for any late-night studying or spell casting. While the candles in the Harry Potter books float, these Muggle candles will stay put. The rooms do have a few Harry Potter books to read in case you can't sleep due to troubled dreams or noises in the night.

Read at your own risk

While the Wizard Chambers do have copies of various "Harry Potter" books by J.K. Rowling, don't expect to stumble upon texts from Hogwart's extensive library such as "Defensive Magical Theory" by Wilbert Slinkhard or "Curses and Counter-curses (Bewitch Your Friends and Befuddle Your Enemies with the Latest Revenges: Hair Loss, Jelly-Legs, Tongue-Tying, and Much, Much More)" by Professor Vindictus Viridian.

Though we have to admit the books "Wanderings With Werewolves" by Gilderoy Lockhart and "Blood Brothers: My Life Amongst the Vampires" by Eldred Worple would make from some interesting reading. Just make sure any book you pick up doesn't have the inscription "This Book is the Property of the Half-Blood Prince" -- because we all know what happened to the last folks who borrowed a book like that, and it didn't end well.

Is that a Patronus chandelier?

Vintage portraits and paintings adorn the walls of the Wizard Chambers. We can't be sure if the paintings come to life, but at least guests can get into their rooms without the use of a painting password. After all, the last thing you want is a painting to deny you access to your sleeping quarters. There's even an antler chandelier hanging in the Wizard Chambers, which is hopefully not made from the antlers of Harry Potter's corporeal Patronus of the stag.

The owls are not what they seem

Harry Potter's beloved owl Hedwig was more than a pet given to him by Hagrid on his 11th birthday. The owl was also an important messenger between Harry and his friends who delivered letters back and forth. She also nipped at Harry gently as a gesture of affection. So it's only suitable that an owl, albeit a ceramic statue, is placed on a bedside table as a reminder of Hedwig's friendship with the famous wizard. Plus, it will watch over any precious books you bring into the room, like this hardcover copy of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire."

Avoid using the Floo Network

Because the Wizard Chambers also have rooms that share multiple beds, you can easily transport yourself back to Hogwarts and pretend you're sleeping in the house of Gryffindor. The rooms are cozy and come with a fireplace in case you want to try to contact distant wizarding relatives. Though we highly discourage attempting to travel via the Floo Network -- a mode of transport where witches and wizards travel thanks to using Floo powder and a fireplace. Standing in green flames is never a good idea.

Behold the glory of the Gryffindor

The Wizard Chambers show loyalty to the Hogwarts house that Harry Potter made famous -- Gryffindor. The banner displays the gold and scarlet colors of the house of Gryffindor, as well as its animal of the lion. The traits of both the house and its mascot include bravery, nerve, chivalry, courage, daring and strong of will.

Is it a chair or a professor in disguise?

Professor Horace Slughorn was a potions master and the head of Slytherin House at Hogwarts. He had a habit of changing himself into an armchair when he wanted to avoid unwelcome guests. Even Dumbledore himself once said, "I must say, you make a very convincing armchair, Horace." To which Slughorn responded, "It's all in the upholstery, I come by the padding naturally." So think twice before absent-mindedly sitting on one of these chairs in the Wizard Chambers. You never know if it's furniture or a shy Hogwarts professor!

Drink tea in the Wizards Chambers and see if you can read the leaves for clues about your fate.

Eat like a wizard

While the Georgian Hotel doesn't have a grand dining hall with magical ceilings like the one at Hogwarts, it does have a communal breakfast room where guests can sit and leisurely enjoy their meals.

Guests can order a home-cooked English breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, beans and mushrooms. Optional items include smoked salmon, yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, pastries and various cereals.

No need to wait for the Sorting Hat

Comfy rooms await wizards and Muggles alike inside the Wizard Chambers at London's Georgian House Hotel. While there, be sure to check out the Reception Room. While it doesn't have quite the same decor as the Wizard Chambers, it's easy to make believe the paintings have a life of their own like they did in the "Harry Potter" books and films.
