This quaint neighborhood offers a glimpse into what Dubai was like before the Emirates were formed in 1971. Traditional buildings crafted from stone, palm wood, gypsum, and teak line the twisted alleys and pathways. Soon to undergo rehabilitation and revitalization.

The neighborhood is a quiet retreat from the traffic and skyscrapers of the city.
Is there a guide involved?
Guides aren't needed—explore the 50 or so buildings at your own leisure, making sure to pop into the various museums and craft shops that line the streets.
Who comes here?
It is a tourist attraction, but still worth your time.
Did it meet expectations?
The labyrinth of lanes make this an easy place to get lost for a while—well worth the time to feel like you're in a secluded village.
