Angle symbol (∠, ∟, ∡, ∢) in LaTeX
In order to get an angle symbol in LaTeX, you can use the default command \angle
. In this tutorial, I will show you how to get different styles of angle symbols with different packages.
Let’s try with the default command \angle{<name>}
.
\documentclass{article} \begin{document} $$ \verb|\angle|\rightarrow \angle $$ $$ \verb|\angle{PQR}|\rightarrow \angle{PQR} $$ \end{document}
Output:
Angle symbol with amssymb package
With amssymb
package, you can get three types of angle symbols those are normal angle symbol like before, measured angle, and spherical angle symbols. Follow the table given below.
Command | Output |
---|---|
$\angle$ | |
$\measuredangle$ | |
$\sphericalangle$ |
\documentclass{article} \usepackage{amssymb} \begin{document} \centering \underline{Angle symbol with \texttt{amssymb} package}: $$ \angle \quad \measuredangle \quad \sphericalangle $$ \end{document}
Output:
Angle symbol with MnSymbol package
This package also provides commands to get the normal angle symbol, measured angle, and spherical angle symbol.
\documentclass{article} \usepackage{MnSymbol} \begin{document} \centering \underline{Angle symbol with \texttt{MnSymbol} package}: $$ \verb|\angle| \rightarrow \angle $$ $$ \verb|\measuredangle| \rightarrow \measuredangle $$ $$ \verb|\sphericalangle| \rightarrow \sphericalangle $$ \end{document}
Output:
Angle symbol with fdsymbol package
The fdsymbol
provides various types of angle symbols more than previous packages.
\documentclass{article} \usepackage{fdsymbol} \begin{document} \centering \underline{Angle symbol with \texttt{fdsymbol} package}: $$ \verb|\angle| \rightarrow \angle $$ $$ \verb|\measuredangle| \rightarrow \measuredangle $$ $$ \verb|\sphericalangle| \rightarrow \sphericalangle $$ $$ \verb|\revangle| \rightarrow \revangle $$ $$ \verb|\revmeasuredangle| \rightarrow \revmeasuredangle $$ $$ \verb|\sphericalangledown| \rightarrow \sphericalangledown $$ $$ \verb|\measuredrightangle| \rightarrow \measuredrightangle $$ $$ \verb|\rightangle| \rightarrow \rightangle $$ $$ \verb|\sphericalangleleft| \rightarrow \sphericalangleleft $$ $$ \verb|\sphericalangleleft| \rightarrow \sphericalangleleft $$ $$ \verb|\measuredrightangledot| \rightarrow \measuredrightangledot $$ $$ \verb|\rightanglesquare| \rightarrow \rightanglesquare $$ $$ \verb|\sphericalangleup| \rightarrow \sphericalangleup $$ \end{document}
Output:
Angle symbol with stix package
\documentclass{article} \usepackage{stix} \usepackage{multicol} \begin{document} \centering \underline{Angle symbol with \texttt{stix} package}: \begin{multicols}{3} $$ \verb|\angle| \rightarrow \angle $$ $$ \verb|\measuredangle| \rightarrow \measuredangle $$ $$ \verb|\sphericalangle| \rightarrow \sphericalangle $$ $$ \verb|\angdnr| \rightarrow \angdnr $$ $$ \verb|\measanglerutone| \rightarrow \measanglerutone $$ $$ \verb|\rightanglemdot| \rightarrow \rightanglemdot $$ $$ \verb|\measangleultonw| \rightarrow \measangleultonw $$ $$ \verb|\rightanglesqr| \rightarrow \rightanglesqr $$ $$ \verb|\angles| \rightarrow \angles $$ $$ \verb|\measangleurtone| \rightarrow \measangleurtone $$ $$ \verb|\angleubar| \rightarrow \angleubar $$ $$ \verb|\sphericalangleup| \rightarrow \sphericalangleup $$ $$ \verb|\gtlpar| \rightarrow \gtlpar $$ $$ \verb|\measuredangleleft| \rightarrow \measuredangleleft $$ $$ \verb|\threedangle| \rightarrow \threedangle $$ $$ \verb|\measangledltosw| \rightarrow \measangledltosw $$ $$ \verb|\measuredrightangle| \rightarrow \measuredrightangle $$ $$ \verb|\turnangle| \rightarrow \turnangle $$ $$ \verb|\measangledrtose| \rightarrow \measangledrtose $$ $$ \verb|\rangledownzigzagarrow| \rightarrow \rangledownzigzagarrow $$ $$ \verb|\wideangledown| \rightarrow \wideangledown $$ $$ \verb|\measangleldtosw| \rightarrow \measangleldtosw $$ $$ \verb|\revangle| \rightarrow \revangle $$ $$ \verb|\wideangleup| \rightarrow \wideangleup $$ $$ \verb|\measanglelutonw| \rightarrow \measanglelutonw $$ $$ \verb|\revangleubar| \rightarrow \revangleubar $$ $$ \verb|\measanglerdtose| \rightarrow \measanglerdtose $$ $$ \verb|\rightangle| \rightarrow \rightangle $$ \end{multicols} \end{document}
