Colleton County Fire-Rescue's Emergency Management Division (EMD) is responsible for developing emergency response plans and coordinating/implementing those plans during an emergency. EMD works closely with state and local officials in four key areas: Preparation, Mitigation, Response, and Recovery.

Code Red

Code Red is a community notification system that alerts you by phone, text, and email when a major disaster is imminent, has just occurred, or in situations requiring you to take personal protective actions.

Code Red registration requires your first and last names, street address (no P.O. boxes), city, state, zip code, and primary phone number, additional phone numbers can be entered as well.

All businesses should register, as well as all individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address within the past year, and those who use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number.

Caller ID:  Registered citizens will know the call is from Code Red Weather Warning when you see the telephone number 1-800-566-9780.  If you would like to hear the last message delivered to your phone, simply dial the number back.

Privacy: Your contact information will remain private and will only be used for severe weather or emergency alerts.
