A major project in Mira Mesa is potentially in the works. Vulcan Materials has put the development before the Mira Mesa Community Planning Group.

Dubbed Stone Creek, it would span over 293 acres and include 4,500 multifamily units and one-million square feet of commercial space, including office, retail and industrial.

There does not seem to be as much opposition to the plan as there was to One Paseo, which was proposed in Carmel Valley and has gone back to the drawing board after community complaints about its density.
