The best Met Gala 2023 outfits

Fashion fans, rejoice: it's the first Monday in May, which means it's officially the Met Gala aka the Super Bowl of the style world. While it's only the crème de la crème who get invited IRL (Anna Wintour takes care of the guest list, after all), the rest of us get a front row seat thanks to livestreams and social media updates which will allow us to judge the best Met Gala 2023 outfits from the comfort of our couch/bed/morning commute. For a night, we all get to channel our inner Miranda Priestly.

This year, the Met Gala was held (as per usual) in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the theme this time was "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" to pay homage to the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, of Chanel fame (though he also worked at Chloé and Fendi at other points in his career). This means that the celebs decided to play with some of the designer's best known style codes, such as bouclé, and made style nods to his life or trademarks such as his love for the colour white, starched collars and his glam cat Choupette.

And while some of our faves, such as Blake Lively, weren't at the event (though the Kardashian-Jenners will be in attendance, despite rumours to the contrary) there were some *major* moments for all the fashion girlies out there courtesy of fashion mavens like Dua Lipa and Rita Ora.
