When is Black Friday 2024?
It’s officially our favourite weekend of the year, Black Friday usually lands on the last Friday of November. Which means for 2024, BF is on November 29. Add it to your calendars and diaries now, guys!
Recently, there’s been just as much buzz for the week leading up to Black Friday itself – with early deals dropping from as early as Nov 1st. And don’t forget about the whole Black Friday weekend. Yep, the sales usually continue (and sometimes get even better) across the Saturday and Sunday, before more discounts drop to celebrate Cyber Monday on December 2.
What is Black Friday?
If you’ve been hiding under a rock, let us fill you in with exactly just what Black Friday is. The mega sale first became a thang back in ‘30s America with the iconic department store Macy’s making the most of the Thanksgiving period and dropping a hella amaze sale.
The term ‘Black Friday’ wasn’t officially coined until a couple decades later, in the capitalist boom of the ‘80s, when all the major brands wanted to cash in on the pre-holiday shopping rush.
Fast forward to 2024, and BF is very much part of our annual calendars and marks the countdown to Christmas. Just a heads up, any in-store deals are bound to be manic AF, which is why we prefer to do all our Black Friday shopping from the comfort of our homes (read: beds).
How to find the best Black Friday deals?
Obvs on the Cosmopolitan UK site, silly! But seriously, we’re not joking when we say we’ve got you covered. Not only will we be dropping the hot tea on when each of our fave clothing, jewellery, beauty and lingerie brands will be launching their Black Friday sales, we’ll also be sharing our personal wishlists of the items we will *actually* be shopping while the discounts apply. Plus, any extra cheeky codes you can apply to get an even better deal on the day/weekend. You’re so welcome, hun.
What brands take part in Black Friday?
NGL, now that Black Friday is such a BIG deal, you’ll be hard pressed to find a brand that doesn’t take advantage of the sale period and reward its customers with some pretty percentage discounts. We’ll be bookmarking ghd and Sephora for shweet beauty deals, and, of course, continuously refreshing the SKIMS and Monica Vinader page to see the exact moment the sales drop. Amazon has also dropped the deets of its Black Friday sale, starting on Thursday 21st November, meaning you have a week to score some epic deals across tech, homes, beauty and home.
When do the early Black Friday sales start?
Now, there’s good reason we’re getting you all excited about Black Friday before the actual sale (sorry, not sorry), and that’s because every year the deals tend to land earlier than the one before. Right now, you can expect to see many sales already live so load up your shopping basket and make the most of some month-long sales.
When does Black Friday end?
Although Black Friday itself is only one day (that’s November 29, if you’ve already forgotten), the deals usually last a lot longer, and even start before. But you can expect to keep shopping Black Friday sale items across the weekend and we advise also looking out for some more discounts dropping for Cyber Monday, December 2.
Lots of deals will keep rollin’ on into Xmas sale szn, but we also say if there’s something you reaaaaally want, you’ll wanna bag it and hit the check out quickly, to avoid disappointment. You have been warned, gang.
