The Loft Theatre Company in Leamington will be celebrating the run-up to Christmas in rousing fashion with a spectacular all singing, all dancing production of Lionel Bart’s evergreen musical Oliver.
This real family favourite will be on stage from Wednesday, 7 December, to Saturday, 17 December, with performances each evening at 7.30pm (except for Sunday, 11 December).
Auditions for the roles of Oliver Twist, The Artful Dodger, Charley Bates, other members of Fagin’s Gang, and Workhouse and Town Children will be taking place at the theatre from 2pm on Saturday, 20 August.
Director Tim Willis is looking to recruit boys and girls aged 8 to 16 who are bright and personable with excellent singing skills and, preferably, some dance experienced.
The audition process will consist of a group song, followed by individual singing slots and those children auditioning should be prepared to stay all afternoon if required.
Further details, including audition form, can be obtained by contacting Tim Willis on 07818 032752 or emailing him at [email protected].
Earlier this year, the theatre house in Leamington ended its current season with Stephen Sondheim’s dark, erotic musical thriller Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
