Here’s a quick and easy way to dye your Easter eggs this year…with shaving cream! You can also use cool whip as a substitute. I think this is way more fun for kids to do than the traditional way. (Thanks to Crystal on Instagram for the pictures!)

Are you ready to unleash a rainbow of fun? Gather these simple materials and get ready to create a an egg-stra cool masterpiece! You’ll need neon food coloring (or regular food coloring for a more subtle look), hard boiled eggs, a cookie sheet, shaving cream or Cool Whip, a straw, and some gloves if you don’t want to get messy (but let’s be real, getting messy is half the fun!).

Start by squirting white shaving cream onto a cookie sheet and spreading it evenly. Drip different color food coloring onto the shaving cream. Take a straw a swirl the colors together to get a tie dye look. Roll an egg on one side into the colors and flip it over. Let it sit for 10 minutes and rinse clean!

  1. Thank you! I was so sick and confined to my bed ALL week. I had ordered the easter baskets in advance for the kids and my aunt brought over eggs to dye but I didn’t get the dye kits. Well you saved my kids the heartbreak of not getting to dye easter eggs! I had the neon food coloring and shaving cream and they had a blast! After they both looked like purple monsters (we didn’t use the gloves lol)… thank you again :) you saved my family’s easter!
