Food Pass

General Information

How does it work?

1. Students who are registered for classes at Cypress College and NOCE are eligible to participate. NOCE students may continue to use the Food Pass card that was issued in previous semesters until further notice.

New this spring 2025 semester, Cypress College is rolling out an improved student ID card. Students MUST have this new ID card to use the Charger Food Pass.

Cards will be loaded automatically for use Monday through Friday during the semester (not including holidays or other days when the campus is closed) with $12 that can be used to purchase meals, drinks, and snacks at the Charger Café.

Student ID cards are available to enrolled Cypress College students for free at the Admissions and Records Photo ID Booth.

The Food Pass program is available from the first day of classes until the last day of the semester.

2. Once you have your card in hand, use it to purchase up to $12 at the Charger Café in a single day. Any cost over $12 in the same day must be paid out of pocket by students.

The grill is not open and food items are prepackaged to shorten wait times. Students must be currently enrolled at Cypress College or NOCE before entering the Charger Café unless they are planning to pay out of pocket with their own funds.

Note: Your class(es) must be in session to have $12 loaded on your student ID card. Students taking only part-semester and/or late-start classes will have $12 loaded Monday-Friday once their class(es) begin and throughout the duration of the class(es).

Charger Café Hours (excluding holidays and campus closure):

  • Monday – Thursday, 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If I don’t use all my money today, can I use the balance tomorrow along with the $12 for the next day?

No. Money does not carry over from one day to the next. Each day starts a new $12 balance.

Can I use the card for breakfast and lunch?

Yes. You can use the Food Pass multiple times a day as long as you still have money on the card. Anything that goes over the $12 must be paid by the student.

What if I’m a Fullerton College student and I’m taking a class here, too? Can I still get a card?

Yes. Students who are enrolled in classes at Cypress College or NOCE may participate in the Food Pass program.

Will students be charged at the end of the semester for this?

No. Students will not be charged for this.
