I keep asking, but can’t find out or understand, what is happening to America.
President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s statement that Dec. 7, 1941 — when the Japanese, suddenly and deliberately attacked the United States — will live in world history as “a date that will live in infamy,” is correct.
Jan. 6, 2021, is another one of those dates that will live in world history, but for somewhat totally opposite reasons. America was attacked by a man and his minions. A man who now plans to take total control of our government by doing away with our documents of freedom, rights and law, replacing the leaders of our institutions with inexperienced people who will bow down to him and lick his boots.
Donald Trump is known to be a pathological liar, a convicted criminal. This man instigated a mob of insurrectionists, (“stand by and stand back”) who attempted to overthrow our election, stormed our Capitol, responsible for killing and harming our security policemen, damaged and vandalized our Capitol building, in an attempt to overthrow our election.
In 2020, he brought more than 60 lawsuits to negate the election results, nearly all of which were thrown out of the courts.
He is a draft-dodger who has called our military “suckers and losers” and doesn’t care much for those who were captured during our wars, heroes such as John McCain a coward.
Where are the Democrats? Where was President Biden? Where was his instigated mob? How many were killed and harmed? What damage and vandalization happened to our Capitol building? Instead, we watched the peaceful transfer of power. We watched our Vice President Kamala Harris, who lost the election, conduct this peaceful transfer.
We heard and saw conservatives clapping their hands as the results were being read in favor of their party candidates. Some of the “two-faced” GOP members had the audacity to come before the cameras and praise the peaceful transfer of power.
What has happened to America?
Why, when we know that Trump intends to replace our governing institution leaders with his unqualified people, who will bow down and lick his boots, would we, as Americans, want such a person to lead our country for even a day, let alone four more years?
We have seen and witnessed what kind of a leader he was for four years during a pandemic crisis.
I have a friend who told me he held his nose to vote for Trump, three times. The stench got to him so that’s what he did. I suspect that he did it because he has been a registered Republican voter since being old enough to vote. I can find no other reason: Policies, experience and ethics be damned!
Much like the border wall that Mexico would pay for, that was never completed and is crawled over or tunneled under. What has that cost us?
What will four more years of Trumpism cost us?
