Actor Gary Hollywood is asking fans to dig deep to support a children's charity close to his heart.

The Mrs Brown's Boys star is hosting an exclusive Big Band Brunch on Sunday, January 14 in aid of the DreamMaker Foundation.

The event at the prestigious Gleddoch Golf & Spa Resort hopes to raise thousands to make wishes come true for sick children.

The £25 ticket price includes a two-course brunch, a joyous afternoon's entertainment, hosted by Gary, with the sound of the award-winning Michael Brawley Big Band.

"It's the perfect antidote to Christmas... indeed, the perfect Christmas present to look forward to in January, " said Gary, a patron of the charity.

"It's wonderful to be raising money for such a good cause. “I've been a supporter of the DreamMaker Foundation for many years.

"The charity helps children with life-threatening illnesses meet their idols and also enjoy special days out with their families.

"Gleddoch, in Langbank, is a stone’s throw from the city centre and has incredible views over the Clyde estuary.

“The event is sure to be special. Tickets are going fast.”

Angela Cook, charity manager at DreamMaker, based in Wishaw, said Gary’s support meant the world.

“It’s our first time at Gleddoch, which is such a prestigious venue, and our first ever big band event. What a combination!

“We’re looking forward to a fabulous day.”

Raffle prizes at the event include a stay at the luxury resort donated by management.

“We’re delighted to be hosting this lunch,” said Gleddoch Golf & Spa Resort general manager James Anderson.

“The Michael Brawley Big Band will be treating diners to an unbelievable two sets.

“And you have a chance to support this wonderful Scottish charity for children with life-threatening illness through donations on the day and a raffle.”
