Wedding guest's 'inappropriate' dress slammed after she 'upstages' bride

A wedding guest was criticised for wearing a white gown on her step-daughters big day. Some branded the move "attention seeking" and "inappropriate"

When pictures from a wedding were posted online, people mistook a guest for the bride.

This is probably because she was wearing a “beautiful” off-white gown, which featured a train and lace detailing.

The dress is so bridal that some accused the wedding guest of trying to steal the limelight at someone else’s ceremony.

On Reddit, a poster admitted: “Thought this was the bride and groom at first - nope.

“Father and stepmother of the bride, wearing a white-ish, beaded gown with a train.”

The post racked up 1,100 upvotes and dozens of comments – and many said the step mum was being “inappropriate” with her outfit choice.

One commenter remarked: “I feel like there are so many easier ways to scream ‘Pay attention to MEEEEEE!!!!’ that don’t instantly make you look like the a***hole.”

Another said: “That's a beautiful dress, if she wanted an occasion to wear it why didn't they renew their vows? Why be so sh*tty at someone else’s event?”

A third agreed: “Oof. Attention seeking.”

And a fourth added: “That is a more ‘bridal’ dress than many I've seen!! That is incredibly inappropriate!!!

“The only thing worse might be if she took off the capelet and flaunted her boobs all over the place during the reception. Then again maybe she did…”

Meanwhile, others joked they’d throw wine over the white frock as an act of revenge.

One commenter joked: “Best maid should have ‘accidentally’ spilt some wine on it."

And another confessed: “Guess who would've had a HUGE stain in no time if I was a friend of the bride? Stuff like this make me livid!”
