A couple have spoken out about how they fell in love with their maid of honour - a trip to Disney World changed everything.
Katie and Ness have been together for seven years and tied the knot in 2021, after meeting at the daycare where they both work. By their side on their wedding day was their best friend and maid of honour Kaylie. When she joined their place of work the three became best friends, but not before long their was a shift in their dynamic.
Ness told Love Don't Judge: "I was attracted to Kaylie right off the back," and Katie admitted to Kaylie: "Every time you walked in, I would get nervous and make sure I look okay." Ness approached Katie and told her about her feelings about Kaylie, and surprisingly her wife admitted she felt the same way.
In November 2022, Katie and Ness decided to head to Disney World, Florida, for a trip and invite along Kaylie as well as Ness' oldest friend Kristina. Kristina told Truly TV that she started feeling left out and noticed something was happening between the three of them - Ness and Katie would fight to sit next to Kaylie on rides and there was a lot of flirting.
"It felt more intimate, it felt more romantic," Ness said. "We just kept flirting with one another and it just kept going," Katie added. One night, as Kristina went off the bed, the trio claimed to stay up until 3am talking and shared their true feelings for one another. They decided they wanted to establish themselves as a throuple.
Kaylie revealed: "It was very natural for us because we already had that dynamic of the three of us always being together. I think our relationship works because we have the foundation of being best friends. She admitted that often their families members have been confused about the dynamics in their relationship and point out that there are "two who are married and one who isn't".
The trio, who live in Massachusetts in the US, love sharing what they get up to on their Instagram page @traveling_throuple. They recently the UK and Ireland, and while sightseeing in Scotland, Ness asked Kaylie if she would marry them. The trio have also visited Disneyland, California together, enjoy hiking, and love spending time with their dog Sawyer.
Despite their happiness and being inundated with plenty of support, the throuple have admitted that they have received a lot of hate online. They have been dubbed "gross" and "disgusting" but trolls and their relationship branded as "wrong".
"We just have to be OK with laughing it off," Katie added. The throuple hope to buy a house together some day and welcome children into their family.
