GK Barry drank an entire bottle of wine on her flight over from London.

The fifth contestant to arrive in Australia for I'm A Celebrity was social media star and Loose Women panellist GK Barry, who said she drank a bottle of wine on the flight over. The podcaster said: "The flight was horrendous, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. I drank a bottle of wine.”

Barry, who is known for her Saving Grace podcast and celebrity guests, joked that she is in the jungle for one peculiar reason: "I am here to go to a retreat, just one with nature."

When the ITV star was asked if she had ever been camping before, Barry replied: "No, god forbid." She admitted she’d miss "the wine and the pubs" of England and then asked if Australia had any Wetherspoons pubs before getting into a waiting car.

G K Barry - real name Grace Eleanor Keeling - was the second arrival of the day following on from Radio DJ Dean McCulloch. Sunday had seen the arrivals of McFly star Danny Jones, Coronation Street's Alan Halsall and singer and former X factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos.

More famous faces are expected over in Oz within in the next 24 hours. This year's show will see the show kick off with a revamp, with the famous 'Walk the Plank' opening trial axed.

ITV bosses will also film some of the opening scenes at a ten-bedroom Diamond Head estate worth £21 million to kick off the series in style.

Contestant Danny Jones, last year’s jungle champion Sam Thompson and former series star Joel Dommett were all spotted at Heathrow boarding the same flight, which ended up caught in a terrifying thunderstorm while up in the air.

The flight’s landing was delayed and Brisbane airport was temporarily shut down with a runway closure due to the weather. It was reported that over the tannoy, someone announced: “The runway is currently closed until the storm has passed.”
