Marcus Rashford vows to 'keep fighting' after hitting charity target

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been active in the community after has raised an incredible £20m for charity with FareShare UK, a group that helps supply meals for vulnerable people

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has insisted he will keep fighting until every child in the United Kingdom does not need to worry about their next meal.

It comes after the England international helped raise an extraordinary £20m with charity FareShare UK.

Rashford has been one of many footballers giving back to the community amid the coronavirus crisis.

The pandemic has hit those most vulnerable hard, with the UK one of the worst-hit countries in the world.

Over 40,000 people have tragically lost their lives, while there has been nearly 300,000 confirmed cases - the fourth-highest in the world.

During the lockdown period, Rashford has teamed up with the charity and an initial target of £100,000 was set.

But the Wythenshawe-born ace has not only hit that target but utterly trounced it by helping raise £20m after reaching it in a matter of days.

However, Rashford has not stopped there and intends to keep on fighting.

"There is so much more to do," he said after reaching his target.

"This is England in 2020 and families need help."

A new target has been set for the end of June as the forward aims to end child hunger in the country in a public address on social media.

Writing on Twitter Rashford said: "I have amazing news!

"We had a goal that by end of June we would be able to supply 3 million meals to vulnerable people across the UK.

"Today we have met the financial goal to provide these meals. Thank you all so much for the support.
